My Future...

Finally, by the end of this semester I think that technology is not only for entertainment. It proves to be a helpful tool to all of us, we only need to learn how to use it properly. To share what we know, what we have learned and what we think will be our task. If we want to change this world, first we need to adapt ourselves to our environment, and think critically about it.

Teaching in Change (Essay)

This essay resembles an interesting point for me. It is how the teacher's identity is formed according to the society where he/she lives. Also, it would be an interesting topic to investigate the way how teachers see this economic model that shapes education, and what they do to stop it, since, in my opinion, to fight the system, you have to be in the system. Classroom Audio

According to this audio I think that the communication with my students is still developing. I can work with them doing some tasks adn activities; however, it is still hard for me to check the answers or to motivate them to work. I think that my work in the audio is not bad at all, but there are many things to improve, for example my methods to check answers.

My expectations for this semester are quite simple. First, I would like to improve my academic language (English) and second, I would like to have an interesting course for my professional future.

Learning Idioms

This activity was one of the first ones that I did with Rocío Estrada at Colegio Latino Cordillera. The activity was meant to be realized in our workshop outside the classroom with 9th and 11th graders.

During the activity, the students have to infer the possible meaning of an idiom (some of them are very literal) and when the group finishes matching the cards, the teachers tell them the correct answers and help them with the wrong ones.

Finally, the students must use the idioms creating sentences for at least 5 of them.

Poster Session based on TPACK

The next pictures were taken during the preparation and later presentation on TPACK along with Vanessa Urtubia and Javiera Salgado.

As it can be seen, the presentation was based on the Evolution of technology inside the classroom. Quoting T. Edison "Soon scholars will be instructed through the eye", we covered some of the main advances in technology inside the classroom from the horn-book to the I-pad. In this session I learned the value of technology inside the classroom and how useful and helpful it can be to achieve learning.

Teacher's Identity Video

The impact of this video is mainly based on questions, the opinion of experienced teachers, of trainee teachers and in what society we live and what to do to teach in it.

 I learned that there is always something to do to improve education, and that it is on our hands to change the world. we just have to be aware of our environment and what society we want for the future.
